Tulip 2012

This a more sophisticated, slightly less stylized version of the imaginary tulips I envisioned as a teenager and recreated last year:

As you can see, I couldn’t stick with just three bulbs. I needed a fourth for balance. Changed the orange one to a two-toned one and made them all different varieties. I think the new drawing is a more interesting drawing, and it’s a complete figment of my imagination. I used the Gallerys again for the 2012 version.

Oil pastels. I love them. Now that I know how to manipulate them, I love their richness and vibrancy - if not their messiness. DO NOT work with them over beige carpeting.
