And this is the actual rug that I made when I was a teenager from my oil pastel design. In my day, for some reason, black people were really into the colors red, black, & green, so I decided to incorporate that into this motif to “show how black I was”! Ha! Well, I was a kid. Anyway, I didn’t ever mount it or anything, I put it on the floor of my room for a long time, and later I had a lime green laundry hamper I used to drape it over, too. Maybe I’ll get back into making rugs. This guy’s probably about 35 years old, as well. I believe I was naturally creative when I was young. I feel like I’ve lost some of that spontaneity, which is pretty much par for the course the longer you hang with people who don’t get you. I’ve always been pretty much self-taught.
