Keeping your Herbs & Greens Fresh

Tired of gross, slimy wilted herbs & salad greens after only a couple of days? They need to stay dry, yet still get moisture. There’s a simple solution that I thought of all by myself. Chop the ends off the stems (don’t chop the stems off though) and stick them in a cup of water. These are Dixie cups for hot coffee. The cilantro is over two weeks old, the spinach a week. It’s like having a garden in your fridge!

One of my beloved Fresh Herbs jar candles from Pier 1 Imports. I’d been waiting and waiting for them to bring this scent back but it doesn’t look as if they’re going to. Nothing else they’ve sold has ever smelled like this, and I like natural scents. You can smell basil, rosemary, it just smells like you’re walking in the woods - love it so much. Pier 1 is weird like that - they’ll keep some scents, like Citrus Cilantro and Ginger Peach for example, for decades, but good scents like Fresh Herbs they’ll let go after a season. Usually the ones I like they discontinue. But I’m at the point where I need to unload some things in order to fund a dream.
